In recent days, many companies across India have been receiving emails from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) regarding an essential compliance requirement: the filing of e-form CSR-2. This communication serves as a gentle reminder to all eligible companies about the impending deadline and the importance of timely compliance.

As per Rule 12(1B) of the Companies (Accounts) Rules, 2014, every eligible company is obligated to file the CSR-2 form on or before March 31st, 2024, for the financial year 2022-23. Failure to adhere to this deadline may result in penal action by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

The CSR-2 form pertains to the disclosure of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives undertaken by companies. It provides a platform for companies to report their CSR spending and activities, thereby promoting transparency and accountability in corporate social responsibility practices.

Therefore, it is imperative for all companies to whom CSR compliances are applicable to complete the required filing within the stipulated deadline. By doing so, companies not only fulfill their legal obligations but also contribute to the larger goal of social welfare and sustainable development.
